Passion is a choice.

Passion is a powerful driver. It carries us through tough times and pushes us toward greatness.

The most common misconception about passion is that it chooses you — that by some mysterious fate, certain people are simply born with it. True, in childhood you might show talent at something. But talent does not guarantee passion. You can be good at something and still hate it. Passion has nothing to do with natural ability.

That is why some look at others and sigh: “You’re so lucky to have a passion. Me, I don’t have one.” I don’t believe that. What that person lacks is not passion, but self-reflection. They have been swept along by the waves of society for so long that they have lost touch with themselves.

Passion is not a lottery you win. It is a decision you make. You can “create” it through consistent engagement and effort. It begins as a conscious choice to invest your time and energy into an activity, subject, or goal. Over time, that decision deepens into something that feels like a rocket launching in your tummy — lifting you forward.
